   Ha Rhin Kim was born in Seoul, Korea, and received her BFA and MFA from Hongik University and studied at the Pratt Institute Graduate School in New York, USA. She works in a variety of mediums in the visual arts, mainly realizing works that consist of the accumulation of tactile materials. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and video screenings in Korea, the United States, and Europe. In recent years, based on her own experiences of pregnancy, childbirth, and childrearing, she has been working with an interest in solidarity with others as a social other and a feminine subject, and received a PhD in Fine Arts from Hongik University's Department of Painting for her exhibition and research thesis. She is currently teaching at the Department of Painting at Hongik University and the Department of Art at Pusan National University, where she continues to explore the otherness that intersects with her interests as a female subject.
